Gem Kennedy Half, Struck on Scrap
19??-? 50C Kennedy Half--Struck on Scrap Planchet--MS65 NGC. Broadstruck on a scrap flan in the shape of a three-quarters moon. The Great Seal motif is mostly present and well struck, but the reverse legend is spread and distorted. The portrait is similarly blurry, while LIBERTY is comparatively sharp. Clearly, the flan spread irregularly during the strike, differently on the obverse than on the reverse.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24U2, PCGS# 6706, Greysheet# 6909)
