Stunning Mirror Prooflike Specimen 65+ 1872-H 50 Cents

Victoria Specimen 50 Cents 1872-H SP65+ PCGS, Heaton mint, KM6. From our January 2003 sale of the Sid and Alicia Belzberg Collection where it was described, "Mottled gold, russet, and cobalt-blue toning with a flawless strike. The devices are nicely frosted and combine with the watery fields to create a pronounced cameo effect. This coin is more accurately described as a Mirror Proof and such strikes from the Heaton mint are very rare. We believe this coin to be something more than a regular presentation coin. The high quality of production may suggest that someone from the mint took unusual liberties and produced a finer than normal Specimen coin. One of only three pieces certified by PCGS." Nothing has changed about this coin in 12 years. It maintains the same spectacular appearance, with stunning eye-appeal, deep-mirror fields, and superb cameo contrast.
