Description

George V gold Sovereign 1913-C MS64 PCGS, Ottawa mint, KM20. Mintage: 3,715. An important low-mintage date that saw significant attrition from extensive melting, with the total number of survivors for the date often being estimated at as few as several dozen, but population report data suggesting numbers in the low hundreds. The present specimen, just about as fine as the date comes, is vibrantly toned over both sides, with vivid flares of orange-hued color over lustrous surfaces. Light marks are scattered about, but none take on any visual prominence. Currently tied for the finest graded example at PCGS.
