Tu Duc gold "Heaven and Earth" 2 Tien ND (1848-1883) MS63 NGC, cf. KM424 (in silver), Fr-Unl. cf. Schr-356 (in silver). 7.66gm. A gorgeous, artistic spectacle of a coin, gracefully intertwining depictions of the sun, clouds, and moon with the bold character inscriptions. Presented here at a condition tier seldom-witnessed on Annamese gold pieces of the denomination, exhibiting a lovely honeycomb coloration and satiny mint freshness that sparkles with little effort. While NGC's insert state Thieu Tri's regnal dates, this appears to be an even scarcer type struck under Tu Duc. Only a single other populates NGC's census, an MS61 , with examples coming to market in recent decades primarily struck in silver. A trophy-level coin worthy of consideration by the most particular of Annamese collectors.
