Description

1652 Oak Tree Shilling, XF40
Noe-7, Late Die State

1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling XF40 PCGS. CAC. Noe-7, W-480, Salmon 5-D, R.5. 69.75 gn. IN at Bottom. The late die state with a large break between the 2 in the date and the N in AN. A second noteworthy break connects the tops of ND A. Wavy due to its rocker press origin, but the tree is nicely defined for a Noe-7. Mint clips affect portions of the right obverse and left reverse legends. A few marks are noted near the large break, but the dove-gray surfaces are otherwise smooth. Listed on page 39 of the 2014 Guide Book.
