Ahonen Unlisted. Matching serial #005. Struck on a substantial 50mm planchet of 5 oz of .999 fine silver, the "Gearing" series ranks among the largest physical cryptocurrency coins ever produced. Created to mark the 10th anniversary of Bitcoin's inception-commemorating the mining of the Genesis Block by Satoshi Nakamoto in January 2009-the series was conceived as a tribute to a decade of innovation and decentralization. Each set includes two coins: one finished in matte and mirror polish, the other in a uniform antique finish, offering collectors a compelling contrast in style and surface. Originally announced by Crypto Imperator on the BitcoinTalk.org forum in December 2019, the coins were auctioned on the forum in September 2020. Of the 21 sets struck, two were retained by the creator, leaving only 19 pairs distributed to the public. This is the first time we have the pleasure of handling this magnificent set, and expect it will receive an enthusiastic welcome from well-informed collectors.
