Description

Well-Defined Edward IV Angel

Edward IV (Second Reign, 1471-1483) gold Angel ND (1473-1477) AU58 NGC, London mint, S-2091, N-1626, Fr-139. Cross and pellet mm. 5.09gm. Obv. EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC, winged, haloed and armored St. Michael slaying the dragon. Rev. PER CRVCEM TVA SALVA NOS XPC REDEMPT, cross-topped Coat of Arms mounted on galley. Faint wear to the high points hardly detracts from an otherwise bright and glossy specimen. Though finer examples exist, this would be an outstanding addition for a discerning collector looking to avoid the Mint State premium.

Metal: Gold
Diameter: 28mm
