Description

A Coveted Variety

Pedro II gold "Detached Ring" 20000 Reis 1855 MS62 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM468, LMB-675a, Guimaraes-1855-1.3. The sought-after variety with the inner ring of stars is detached from the upper part of the shield, an issue struck with the silver 1000 Reis reverse. Presenting chiseled motifs and shades of luster, it was given the second highest grade recorded by NGC. Dubbed by Guimaraes as unique, we were not able to locate another example of such variety, a reason why we believe it will garner the attention of advanced Brazilian type collectors.
