Description
1795 1/2 C Lettered Edge, C-1, B-1, R.2, Fine 15 PCGS. Manley Die State 1.0. The 1795 lettered edge half cents were all struck in 1795, and they are the "true" 1795-dated coins, while all of the plain edge coins were struck after President Washington ordered a weight reduction on December 27. A lovely example with full borders and smooth tan surfaces, this piece has trivial verdigris on the reverse.From The Mark Hays Collection of Half Cents.
