Emission from 17 July 1346. +PhILIPPVS: DЄI: GRACIA: FRAnCORVM: RЄX, Philippe seated facing on gothic throne, scepter held at right, to left, rod topped by hand of justice; all within tressure with lis in spandrels; four saltires below foot of throne / +:XP'C: VIИCIT: XP'C: RЄGИAT: XP'C: IMPERAT (triple annulet stops), cross fleury, quatrefoil within curvilinear rhombus-shaped center, inward-facing lis in angles; all within quadrilobe with crowns in spandrels. A beautiful rendition of the type displaying laudable boldness owed to a firm strike and perfect centering, resulting in fully legible legends and razor-sharp central devices. Mellow-golden surfaces decorate this verifiably Gem Mint State survivor, elevating this already impressive specimen to even greater heights.
