Description

1871 Two Cent, PR63 Red and Brown
Colorful CAC Proof Type Coin

1871 2C FS-102, PR63 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. Die doubled on the obverse, as usual for the proof issue. This coin embodies the epitome of an excellent collector-grade proof type coin. The PR63 numeric grade is modest, but eye appeal exceeds norms for the grade, and the surfaces display a balance of copper-red, amber, violet, and green hues. The strike is sharp, and the fields are appreciably reflective. A bit of verdigris on the E in WE serves as a pedigree marker. Housed in a Generation 3.0 old green label holder. CAC: 2 in 63, 69 finer (3/25).(Registry values: N991)
