Description

1864 Copper-Nickel Cent, MS66
Among the Finest at NGC

1864 1C Copper-Nickel MS66 NGC. The 1864 is the last issue in the short set of copper-nickel Indian Head cents first released in 1860. The date has the second-lowest mintage among them (13.7 million pieces) and is correspondingly elusive in Gem condition or better. This pumpkin and amber-gold Premium Gem is remarkable because of its unsurpassed technical quality, but also its fantastic eye appeal. Vibrant luster rolls across each side. Four diamonds are apparent on the ribbon. Census: 19 in 66 (1 in 66 ), 0 finer (5/16).(Registry values: N2998)
