Description

Baden. Leopold I 2 Taler (3-1/2 Gulden) 1852 MS67 NGC, Karlsruhe mint, KM220, Dav-526, Thun-26. Engraved by Carl Wilhelm Doell. Fully lustrous with a light patina of mottled russet across the surfaces, contributing to an almost opaline effect. The strike is absolutely superb and the velvet-like luster exhibits only a few traces of subtle cabinet friction. A remarkable offering, the finest piece currently certified at either NGC or PCGS by a margin of two points.
