Description

Republic 8 Reales 1839 So-IJ MS64 NGC, Santiago mint, KM96.1, Elizondo-100. This selection is of a quality very rarely witnessed on this iconic Chilean type that features a stirring symbol of freedom in the massive condor breaking free from it's chain. Heritage has been fortunate to have offered the MS65 Lissner specimen on two different occasions but the highest grade piece to surface in the past 15 years otherwise has been an AU58. This near-Gem representative will surely cause a stir among enthusiasts of Chilean numismatics as the olive pewter patina, crisp strike (though slightly off-center), and flashy luster are an enticing combination of attributes.
