Victoria Proof "Gothic" Crown 1847 PR62 Deep Cameo PCGS, KM744, S-3883, ESC-2571. UN DECIMO edge. A highly appealing representative of this celebrated type, featuring the instantly recognizable Gothic design that has made the issue among the most desirable and widely collected in the entire British numismatic series. A veil of steel tone overlies reflective fields, concentrating in depth within the legends and joining with a faint touch of iridescent blue on the reverse to culminate in a striking cameo effect. Meanwhile, Victoria's bust remains nearly ice white in color, endowing her precisely struck features with a cool contrast that stands in clear juxtaposition against the toned, reflective surfaces below. Isolated contact and light hairlines limit the assigned grade from full choice certification, though it is evident from its appearance alone that this impressive offering remains a highly collectible example of its issue.
