Description
1830 O-115 Bust Half, MS64+★
Clean Fields, Rich Patina
1830 50C Small 0, O-115, R.2, MS64+★ NGC. This colorfully
toned O-115 stands alone at the low end of the variety's Condition
Census by virtue of its richly deserved Plus and Star designations
by NGC. Vivid orange-gold and deep-aqua hues surround a
grayish-lavender portrait of Liberty, while the reverse employs a
similar toning pattern. Overall, the strike is sharp -- but not
full -- because several right-side obverse stars lack their central
details. A few small marks are noted, none of any real import. It
is the spectacular color that carries this coin to high grades for
eye appeal. It is surely unique in that regard among all of the
variety, and likely for the entire series.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24FU, Variety PCGS# 39826, Base PCGS# 6156, Greysheet# 194377)
