Description
George VI "V.I.P." Proof Crown of 5 Shillings 1951 PR66 Cameo NGC, KM880, S-4111, Bull-4025 (R4). Festival of Britain. An exciting George VI rarity; a Festival of Britain commemorative issue, but struck in a "VIP" frosted Proof format. Rather difficult to locate with only four examples found on NGC's census, only seen at market once every year or so. We had the pleasure to offer a comparable example at this year's NYINC auction, distinguished by it's "Ultra Cameo" assignment, and ultimately garnered significant attention. With that in mind, we expect nothing less, especially when punctuated by a gentle lilac glow.Ex. British Raj Collection
