Description

British India - East India Company. Victoria gold Mohur 1841.-(C) MS62 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM462.1. Prid-22, S&W-3.7. Type A/1. W.W. Plain 4. A very desirable type, and rarely found in such a state of preservation. Indeed, this is a type a type that seems to be exponentially more desirable in higher grades. We have sold multiple MS62's for around $4,500, but the last MS63 that we have handled was in September, 2013, where it hammered for $8,500 (Heritage 3026, lot 25101). The coin available now is wholly original and attractive. It should be noted that there is what appears to be a small planchet defect on the rump of the lion.

Metal: Gold
Weight: 11.66g
