Description

1801 B-1, BB-211 Dollar, AU58
Conditionally Challenging

1801 $1 B-1, BB-211, R.3, AU58 NGC. Bowers Die State II. A horizontal die crack west of the date is faint but visible. Although sometimes described as a Wide Date variety, Bolender-1 is typically attributed by the presence of an arrowhead centered below the U in UNITED. B-1 is conditionally rare, with only a few Mint State examples known. This is a charming near-Mint cream-gray representative. Glimpses of golden-brown and power-blue patina emerge near the crest of the left wing. Luster illuminates the eagle's wings, and marks of any notice are limited to a delicate field line west of the shield.
