Description

George I gold 1/4 Guinea 1718 MS65 NGC, KM555, S-3638, EGC-550. Only a one-year type, and one of just two dates that ever saw this denomination minted (the other, 1762), this remarkable gold minor has survived the centuries relatively unscathed. Free from haymarking, and fully satin, to date only a single example grades a point finer at NGC, while we have not handled a comparable-graded specimen since our sale of the Law Collection in 2014.
