Exceptional Type or Registry Coin

1924 $20 MS67 NGC. Less than 0.2% of all Saint-Gaudens double eagles certified at NGC (more than 1 million coins) meet the standards for an MS67 or higher assessment. A substantial proportion of those Superb Gems represent the 1924 issue -- one of the most collectible Saint-Gaudens twenties in the series with mintage in excess of 4.3 million coins. Only the 1908 No Motto is more available in the upper levels of Mint State.

This glistening MS67 example features thick mint frost that swirls over each side. Yellow-gold surfaces are clean and show little more than microscopic ticks. A touch of softness on the Capitol dome is the only overt point of incompleteness. NGC reports three 1924 twenties in numerically finer condition (7/23).
