Description

1911-S Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS66
Virtually Unavailable Any Finer, CAC Endorsed

1911-S $20 MS66 PCGS. CAC. The finely textured surfaces of this San Francisco twenty are boldly struck and pleasingly frosted, with no weakness on Liberty's torch hand or on any of the other trouble spots that normally show the lack of a strong strike. Cartwheel luster runs circles around the coin's perimeter when rotated. Olive-gold overtones shimmer over rich, medium-gold surfaces. Abrasions are at an absolute minimum for the issue, which is conditionally challenging any finer than MS65. PCGS has certified only a single example numerically finer than the Premium Gem grade, plus three pieces in 66+. NGC reports nine examples in MS66 and none finer. CAC: 9 in 66, 0 finer (8/25).
