Description

1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS63+
Coveted Want List Grade

1889-CC $1 MS63+ PCGS. VAM-2. Ex: Desert Find. The PCGS Plus designation is well-deserved for this minimally marked, sharply struck Select Carson City rarity. The borderline Choice surfaces show only a few grade-determining abrasions and they are indeed minor in severity or visual note, gathered together in the left obverse field. Frosted central devices provide a pleasing amount of contrast against the surrounding reflective fields. The reverse is fully prooflike and Choice. While the overall quality of the Desert Find collection is outstanding, this coin sits on the cusp of near-Gem quality and offers upgrade potential for nearly all Carson City sets and Morgan dollar collections. And, it is a coin that CAC has not yet reviewed for that quality. The flashy fields and well-preserved devices excel under even the closest scrutiny.(Registry values: P9, N4719)
