Description
1949-D Franklin, MS67 Full Bell Lines
Tied for Finest Certified
1949-D 50C MS67 Full Bell Lines PCGS. The 1949-D Franklin
half dollar is plentiful with Full Bell Lines, although most such
coins grade no finer than MS65. The issue is elusive in MS66 Full
Bell Lines, and the finest pieces known in this strike category are
two MS67 Full Bell Lines coins at NGC and four others at PCGS
(3/25). We have previously handled only two of these two top-grade
pieces, one of which is the current example. The current coin is
essential for a top-ranking Registry Set. Frosty luster glistens
beneath russet-gold toning that is deeper on the obverse and
lighter on the reverse. The strike is sharp, and each side displays
pristine surfaces. Population: 4 in 67 Full Bell Lines, 0 finer
(3/25).(Registry values: N10218)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24SU, PCGS# 86654, Greysheet# 6823)
