Description

George I Crown 1716 MS63+ NGC, KM545.1, S-3639, ESC-1540. Roses & Plumes reverse. SECUNDO edge. A phenomenal example of this type, both in terms of technical grade as well as visual appeal, this is the single finest graded example seen by NGC or PCGS. We have offered only one Mint State example of a 1716 crown, and that was a PCGS MS61 in January, 2007, where it realized $5,750. There has not been another Mint State example offered before or since (until today). Attractive deep gray toning, with hints of blue iridescence. Certainly a coin that will be hotly competed over when it crosses the block. The pedigree only adds to its appeal.
