Abd al-Aziz bin Sa'ud gold 4 Pounds ND (1945-1946) MS61 PCGS, Philadelphia mint, KM34. Struck in the equivalent of a four Sovereign weight, and issued to pay the Saudi Arabian government for oil rights. The net gold weight is 452 grains, equivalent to four British sovereigns. One of the few gold coin issues struck by the U.S. Mint during the era when private gold ownership was illegal. An always popular issue, especially when witnessed in Mint State designations.
