Description
1911-D Two and a Half Indian, MS64
High-End Example of the Denver Key
1911-D $2 1/2 MS64 NGC. The 1911-D, boasting a scant mintage
of 55,680 pieces, is the overall key date of the series. It is by
far the rarest issue in the series at the Gem level, and even
Choice coins are scarce -- far more so than the certified
population would suggest. Above MS63, the 1911-D is far less
available than certified population totals tell, largely due to
upgrade attempts and resubmissions. This Choice 1911-D boasts rich honey-gold color throughout the textured luster, complementing a bold strike and excellent visual appeal. Only a few light field marks are seen with a loupe.(Registry values: N7079)
Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# EGZ7, PCGS# 7943, Greysheet# 8615)
Weight: 4.18 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
