Description

1913 Type Two Buffalo Nickel, MS67
High-End and Lightly Toned

1913 5C Type Two MS67 PCGS. The denomination on the elevated mound beneath the bison on the Type One issue was found to wear quickly, so midway through 1913 the reverse of the Buffalo nickel was modified to recess the denomination. The Type Two issue is scarce in MS67 and nearly unknown finer. This piece displays pristine luster and luminous surfaces with iridescent toning. A touch of central strike softness is typical and not bothersome. Population: 54 in 67 (13 in 67+), 1 finer (8/25).(Registry values: N1793)
