Description

1871-CC 10C F-101, R.4, AG3 NGC. The 1871-CC dime was the first issue of the denomination struck at Carson City. The scant mintage of 20,100 pieces has a low survival rate, and most survivors are well-worn, corroded, or cleaned. The present gunmetal-blue and tan-gold example has a bold date, and the upper half of the mintmark is clear. AMERICA is nearly worn smooth, and the edge is abraded at 9 o'clock.
From The San Juan Collection.
