Description
Desirable 1955 Doubled Die Cent, MS63 Red
1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse MS63 Red PCGS. FS-101, formerly FS-021.8. Rich reddish-orange color overall with occasional glimpses of tan. This Red Select piece shows plainly the doubling on the peripheral elements of the obverse. Minimally marked for the grade, if a trifle softly struck on the portrait. Excellent eye appeal for the variety that sparked widespread interest in doubled dies, and a tough issue with the Red certification from PCGS.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 2827, Greysheet# 2167)
