Spanish Colony. Ferdinand VII Octavo 1830 M-F MS62 Brown PCGS, Manila mint, KM8, Cal-82, Basso-24. A fantastic example from the final date of this short-lived but beloved copper series. Though not quite as rare as the prior date in the series, 1830 specimens are extremely elusive on the auction market, especially so for pieces rising as far as the Mint State threshold. A few areas of the planchet are rough, but the immense quality of this piece is evident, perhaps nothing being as impressive as the patches of brick red original luster present on each side. The certified population in this grade at PCGS is three, with none finer. A thrilling opportunity for collectors of the series.
