Description

1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS62 Brown NGC. Knowledge of the die making process was little known by coin collectors during the 1950s. The spectacular Doubled Die 1955 cent perplexed numismatists of the day, but we now know a working obverse die received two bold hub impressions with a slight counter-clockwise rotation between hubbings. All obverse legends exhibit a wide spread. A lovely medium-brown and powder-blue representative with a few small ticks on the portrait.
