Description

1850 1C N-7, R.2, MS65 Red and Brown NGC. Die lines behind the neck curls identify the variety. A shallow die lump resides just below the middle of Liberty's jawline. Well struck except for the obverse stars and some of the dentils, with rich red-brown coloration and a few scattered carbon flecks. The surfaces are free of marks on both obverse and reverse. A highly attractive Gem example of this later large cent date. Our EAC grade MS62.
Ex: EAC Sale (4/1995), lot 449; Col. Steven Ellsworth (3/2004); FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2008), lot 225.
