Tied for Finest at PCGS of This One-Year Type
1859 1C MS66 PCGS. The mintage of the 1859 Laurel Wreath
Indian cent exceeds 36 million coins, although this issue's status
as a one-year type earns it tremendous popularity and makes it
scarcer on the market in high grade than it otherwise would be for
its survivorship. The Premium Gem offered here is scarce, and each
side displays remarkably sharp definition. A hint of reflectivity
combines with cartwheel luster in the fields, boosting the vibrancy
of rich golden-orange and rose toning on each side. Eye appeal is
