Description
1853-D Gold Dollar, MS61
Elusive Mint State Example
1853-D G$1 MS61 NGC. Variety 5-G. The low-mintage 1853-D
gold dollar (6,583 pieces struck) is scarce in Mint State. This
example displays expected abrasions and handling marks, but the
olive-gold patina is pleasing, and detail is above average for the
issue. Doug Winter considers the 1853-D to be one of the more
collectible Dahlonega gold dollars in high grade, making it ideal
for the branch mint type collector.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25BW, PCGS# 7523, Greysheet# 8067)
