Description

William III Crown 1695 MS64+ NGC, KM486, S-3470, ESC-991 (prev. ESC-87). OCTAVO edge. British Crown collectors will find little wanting in this exceptional representative, the visual splendor of which rivals even the best examples that we have seen. Soft peach tones grip the devices across obverse and reverse alike, producing an exceptional visual display in contrast with soft silvery tone that uniformly blankets the fields. A firm strike allows for ample expression of detail throughout, the contours of William's bust showing admirable relief, while the surfaces as a whole reveal only the most minimal instances of isolated handling that preclude a full, but arguably still appropriate, gem designation.
