Description

1907-S Ten Dollar Liberty, MS63
Final-Year San Francisco Issue

1907-S $10 MS63 PCGS. Ex: Simpson-Hall. As of early 2020, the 1907-S eagle is a scarce issue in MS63 and a rare date in MS64 and finer, but this is likely to change in the coming years. Examples will undoubtedly be located in overseas bank hoards. PCGS has graded just one coin in MS64+, two in MS66, and one in MS66+, the last recently brought a stunning $96,000 in the Rarities Night Baltimore Auction (Stack's Bowers, 10/2018), lot 2149.

The two most recent auction prices realized for this issue both occurred in 2018 -- $3,120 (8/2018) and $2,640 (4/2018). This piece displays dazzling luster and a sharp strike, complementing rich orange-gold coloration.
