Description
1852-O Twenty Dollar, AU55
Type One New Orleans Issue
1852-O $20 AU55 NGC. Variety 1. Often identified as the the
second most available New Orleans double eagle from the 1850s, this
issue is available but scarce at the AU level. Still, more than 200
pieces are believed known of the 1852-O in AU condition, making it
moderately available for the collector of Type One twenties. Nice
luster remains across lightly abraded medium-gold surfaces, and the
fields display a confirmed semiprooflikeness. A strong strike for
the issue displays the devices to full advantage, and the only
significant mark is at the dentils beneath N of TWENTY, where a
border disturbance may be of Mint origin.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 268L, PCGS# 8907, Greysheet# 9845)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
