Description

1807 10C JR-1, R.2 -- Altered Surfaces -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. This hardy die pair was used to strike all 165,000 dimes in 1807. The reverse was also employed in the production of 1805 BD-1, 1806/4 BD-1, 1806/5 BD-2, and 1807 BD-1 quarter eagles. The surfaces are evenly granular with multicolor toning around much of the borders, especially on the obverse. The centers maintain their brilliance and show good detail with little wear. This example is in a late die state with a bulge at ERTY and clashing in the fields.
