Description

1890-CC Twenty Dollar, AU58
Substantial Luster Remains

1890-CC $20 AU58 NGC. Winter 1-A. This piece is in the later state of the dies, with the eagle's tailfeathers partially effaced by die lapping, and the doubling on TWENTY less prominent. Butter-gold patina with ample field luster characterizes this well-detailed Carson City coin. Scattered abrasions accompany a touch of high-point wear. The 1890-CC is a plentiful date among Type Three Carson City issues, serving well as a branch mint type coin in the upper AU grades.(Registry values: N1793)
