Description

1870-CC OC-1 Dollar, VF25
Historic Old West Issue

1870-CC $1 OC-1, Low R.4, VF25 PCGS. The Carson City struck Seated dollars for only four years, and the introductory issue is the most obtainable despite its low emission of 12,462 pieces. OC-1 was struck with the same obverse die used to coin 1870-S silver dollars. The die was shipped to San Francisco when that facility decided to strike a few examples, ostensibly for the cornerstone of its new building. The present 1870-CC dollar displays medium charcoal-gray toning. Five letters in LIBERTY show, and marks of any notice are limited to a diagonal field line near the left wing.(Registry values: N991)
