Description

1882-O VAM-15 Dollar, MS66 Prooflike
Conditionally Rare

1882-O $1 MS66 Prooflike PCGS. VAM-15. The 8s are slightly doubled on VAM-15 and the O mintmark is repunched with die chips and polishing marks inside. The icy-white surfaces of this dazzling Premium Gem exhibit intensely frosted design motifs and glassy, highly reflective fields. Exquisitely preserved and free of distractions, this coin is rare, both as a fully struck Morgan dollar from the New Orleans Mint, and as a fully Prooflike specimen at this lofty grade level. The advanced collector may search far and wide without ever locating another 1882-O dollar as fine as this one, as PCGS shows only six Premium Gem examples in Prooflike and none finer (8/25).
