Description

1885-CC GSA Dollar, MS66+
Brilliant and Beautiful

1885-CC $1 GSA MS66+ NGC. VAM-3. The 1885-CC is noted for having the lowest mintage of any Carson City Morgan dollar issue. Luckily for today's collectors, it emerged in enough quantity from the GSA holdings that it is more available in Mint State than in circulated grades. But at the MS66+ level, it becomes challenging, particularly in a GSA holder. Most high-grade GSA dollars were removed from their government-issued holders during the late 20th century, and sent to grading services for encapsulation. This lustrous and brilliant Premium Gem remains untouched from its Nixon-era issue.
