Description

1912-S 5C MS65 PCGS Secure. The San Francisco Mint began striking minor denominations in 1908, with the Indian Head cent. The nickel followed in 1912, with a coinage of 238,000 coins. This key date is sought-after in Gem condition. The present example displays delicate pastel toning and satiny mint luster. The lower-left portion of the wreath and the stars are well-defined, although minor softness is visible on Liberty's temple.(Registry values: N2998)
