Description
George VI gold Proof 5 Pounds 1937 PR61 NGC, KM861, Fr-409, S-4074, W&R-435. Mintage: 5,500. The largest issue from George VI's gold coronation set, and one always popular with collectors, no matter the technical grade. Exceptionally crisp, brilliant features envelop the expansive planchet while deep mirrors reflect back at the viewer, revealing only light wisps consistent with gentle handling. Perhaps a touch conservatively graded by modern standards and sure to be a jewel of any coronation set.Metal: Gold
