Description
1992-D 1C Close AM, FS-901, AU55 PCGS. The AM in AMERICA are closely spaced, and the G initial in FG lacks a crossbar. These are the key characteristics of the Close AM subtype, customary for 1992-S proofs but rarely encountered on 1992 and 1992-D business strikes. The PCGS website states "about 15 known" although a greater quantity than that are certified by the service, presumably due to duplicate submissions. A satiny ocean-blue example with glimpses of orange-red within the Lincoln Memorial.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22JJ, Variety PCGS# 391427, Base PCGS# 83099, Greysheet# 393268)
