Description

1812 50C Large 8, O-104'b', R.3, AU58 PCGS. Housed in a vintage doily label holder. A die crack from the top of the 1 through the drapery to star 1 corresponds to Herrman's late die state. The present coin is sharply detailed in most areas, with minor softness evident on the upper stars. The surfaces are brilliant and lustrous, and a few minor contact marks on Liberty's cheek are the only marks of note.
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2011), lot 3675, which realized $2,760.
From The Eagle One Collection, Part II.
