Bowers Die State I, lacking the usual die crack through LIB of
LIBERTY. Colorful iridescent toning graces both sides of this
attractive About Uncirculated 1799 dollar. Underlying mint luster
reveals shades of blue, yellow-gold, and violet surrounding
warm-gray centers for excellent eye appeal. Although the BB-165
variety is an available die pair, few About Uncirculated 1799 early
dollars of any variety can match this AU50 example for eye appeal
and bold strike for the grade. The Benson Collection pedigree
