1879 Half Dollar, MS66
Low Mintage of 4,800 Coins

1879 50C MS66 PCGS. Flashy luster radiates from each side of this Premium Gem 1879 Seated half, an untoned silvery specimen with top-notch eye appeal and a bold strike throughout. The circulation-strike mintage was a meager 4,800 pieces, the recently achieved parity between gold, silver, and paper currency being the culprit, compounded by the introduction of the Morgan dollar in 1878. Population: 46 in 66 (2 in 66+), 17 finer (9/13).(Registry values: N2998)
