Elusive Knobbed 9 Variety
1798 $1 Large Eagle, Knob 9, 5 Vertical Lines, B-4, BB-92, R.4
-- Cleaned -- NGC Details. AU. Bowers Die State II, or slightly
earlier, with the reverse die crack not as advanced as described
for that state. The obverse is bight silver with some roughness
before Liberty's profile. The reverse is medium gray with faint
gold highlights. This example is tied for 10th place in the 2013
Notable Specimens list with several similarly graded examples.Ex: Jack Beymer (5/1985).
